Honoring the Culebrita Lighthouse on National Lighthouse Day

For the first time ever, as a virtual event, Para la Naturaleza celebrated International Lighthouse Day on August 7. Together with a group of partners we shared the latest news regarding the Culebrita Lighthouse restoration project and the initiatives we are working on in Culebra. We also invite you to take a look at the special Culebrita Lighthouse video that shares the restoration plans and the ecotourism vision for this magical place. The most recent updates on the Lighthouse construction progress and initiatives in Culebra are as follows:

• Historian Dr. Aníbal Sepúlveda recently published the book Historia of the Culebrita Lighthouse.
• Protectores de Cuencas, Inc. in collaboration with TetraTech, are completing the design and permitting process for the construction of the loading dock in Culebrita.
• Together with the Culebra Foundation we launched the Culebra Environmental Leaders project.
• Together with the organization Mujeres de Islas we are creating a community gardens project (solidarity) with three families.
